Easygoing: get comfortable, the take-off begins - A one-way ticket to Itself.

Easygoing, Beev Rations' eleventh EP, is an indie/alternative concept album where Progressive Rock, Ambient, Dream Rock and Chillout genres predominate, amalgamated with Americana, Psychedelia, Alt Country, Merseysound and Roots Rock. Besides, being presented in an EP format with 6 songs, Easygoing actually has the length of an LP of about 10 tracks.

It is, on the other hand, an album characterized by the great contrasts, exuberance and colorful nature of its moods, tempos, rhythms and lyrical themes, in which the prosaic, carefree and spicy alternate with the deep, complex and elevated. However, all this finds its place in the harmonic whole of this musical work, whose title reflects that key that, for serene, offers a wider, more conscious and therefore, more unwrapped perspective.

Of the 6 tracks that make up the album -all Beev Rations originals- four are new songs and the remaining two come from the recent advance single, Tonite I Fly To You / Audrey, although the first of both is an alternative version of the single, edited especially for this album.

The instrumental, relaxing and stratospheric Easygoing (Overture), leitmotiv of this album, is the theme that opens it and -in the form of a surprising reprise- also closes it in a big way, in all senses. Like a quiet, kaleidoscopic and lilting river of sound, the energy of this overture permeates and flows meekly through the whole album, saying everything without needing a single word.

Turning now to the second cut, the same basic vocal and acoustic guitar recordings (from February 2018), whose tone were later downed to release that summer's histrionic single Darth Father (Some Parts Of Me), have been recovered in their original tone to craft the brand new and lively Another Part Of Me in 2023. It's quite a complex and multi-chromatic production, with the new instrumental arrangements, backing vocals, vocal harmonies and spoken parts added this year.

No less exciting and rich in nuances is the third song, It's All Me, just the counterpoint of the preceding cut, with an introspective, melancholic and cathartic mood, where the raw lyrical and vocal honesty is accompanied by changing sound textures and instrumental landscapes of great beauty and intensity, also connecting with the ethereal, dreamlike and emotional atmosphere of the album.

On the other hand, as in the case of Another Part Of Me and Tonite I Fly To You, the basic recordings of It's All Me also correspond to those same February 2018 sessions, dressed with the new instrumental arrangements added in 2023. This crossover of eras or merging of band timelines, it could be said, has been the tonic of Beev Rations' releases this last six months, culminating now in Easygoing.

In short, apart from featuring some of the band's most outstanding compositions and vocal and instrumental registers to date, this monumental EP has required extensive and neat use of all production, mixing, editing and mastering skills by Alan James, who thus serves up virtually all the remaining rations in the Beev pantry.
