The Essential: Alan James' musical caviar in 17 songs

'Oh Janice (Nothing happened)', the oniric and thrilling new song that opens this first Beev Rations' LP is also its star single. It truly represents and sythetizes the distinctive -eclectic and rooted- style of the band, where epic and basic genres of Rock as Blues, Folk, Country and R&B (Doo wop) get together with Psychedelia from an avant-garde and indie approach, in a rare blend that only Alan James could distillate.

Even his subtle humorism is present here and is evident in a very enjoyable video, while a burning passion flames out all through the song. But look out with those Alan's voices and guitars and the whole sonorous climate, for suddenly you can also feel moved to tears. This song summarizes aswel the experience and groove reached through these three initial years of the BRs career.

This way Janice introduces us to a selection of the songs (some of them remastered) that came along from the double single 'What's that? / The one I love' (2016) to the recently released third EP, 'True Nature' (2019). So this is not actually a compilation, but indeed the first LP of Beev Rations, called precisely 'The Essential'.

The criteria used to choose the following sixteen themes included, has to do with the indie musical reviewers and radio stations good response to them and equally with its significant character within the BRs discography, being all completely original compositions, performings and recordings from Alan James, both in music and lyrics. On the other hand, those lyrics are frequently related with love, nature and own observations about life and reality. All of it is what makes this LP essential.

So pick up your favorite headphones, get yourself comfortable and, if you like this kind of strange brew, be ready to enjoy this 100% pure Beev Rations' music. Its high octane surely wont get you drunk, but you probably shall fly inwards somehow. And then you'll be actually connecting with wnatever is the essential for you.
