"I See, Anemone" is the fresh new single from Beev Rations, deliciously touching our souls through the sounds of Cosmic American Music genre (or simply, Cosmic Americana), once called that way by his pionner, Gram Parsons (aka "the grievous angel"), when asked what kind of music he was doing. Far of being an Alan James' stylistic casual turn, this song actually reflects a medular pattern in his musical stream with Beev Rations. Indeed, the band second single was precisely an acustic cover of Hot Burrito #1 (I'm Your Toy), astounding tune that Parsons recorded with The Flying Burrito Brothers, wich is by the way one of the James' favorite bands, together with The Beatles, The Beach Boys and other main influences, as everybody can easily notice just listenning to BRs songs.
Although in the aquatic and beautiful official video we can see the anodyne and constant love that a little colored fish professes to a pretty but hermetic sea anemone, the lyrics can also be about that kind of epic and prodigious love that once could have sank deeply in the middle of the ocean, during a perfect storm, but wich charming halo and magical echoes still linger and live on and on... for ever.
lyrics
You see, Anemone.
I am still here,
stuck on your image,
same as you're on the floor of the sea.
And like you too,
I feel it's the right thing to do.
I have time to spend
and you're paying no rent.
Nobody understands our love.
It's not a thing they're dreaming of.
Like I do, honey.
(Instrumental)
Nobody lends a hand to you,
You needn't anyone, it's true.
I see, Anemone,
you're so glad to be as you are,
inspiring me to live, love and laugh.
